Commutators
In experiments requiring optical stimulation of freely behaving animals, optical patch cables attached to the animal may become twisted as the animal moves around. In some cases, during short stimulation sessions, this cable twisting may be tolerated. In other cases where extended free movement of the animal is important, a solution to prevent tangling is required.
