Recorder-S pairs Plexon's Recorder platform with a single SiNAPS active pixel sensor probe, supporting up to 1,024 channels of high-density recording.
It's built for labs that want SiNAPS-level electrode density in a simpler, more focused setup: record and visualize your data without needing real-time spike sorting or multi-probe synchronization. Recorder-S is a lower-cost entry point into the SiNAPS product line, and pairs with the same SiNAPS probe hardware used across Plexon's systems.

- Live Signal ViewingSee all incoming research signals as they're recorded, including digital inputs, to confirm they're there.
- No Online Sorting or InteractionRecorder-S records and displays data in real time, but doesn't sort or let you interact with it during acquisition.
- Electrode Movement VisibilitySignal changes are visible in real time, useful for spotting when an electrode shifts during recording.
- .PL2 File FormatFast offline read times, compatible with standard analysis tools.
SiNAPS Hardware
Recorder-S connects through the same SiNAPS hardware family used across Plexon's probe interface.
Recorder-S Box
The Recorder-S enclosure that pairs with a single SiNAPS probe.
SiNAPS Adaptor
The interface for SiNAPS probes, with high quality A/D conversion.
Probe Tester Unit (PTU)
For testing and troubleshooting the SiNAPS–Recorder connection.
System Tester Unit (STU)
Feeds up to 32 independent signals into the system for testing and demonstration.
Combine Electrophysiology With
Optogenetics
Add time-locked optogenetic stimulation alongside SiNAPS recording.
PlexBright can run standalone, or connect to Recorder-S via digital inputs so each system knows what the other is doing. Video synchronization (CinePlex) is not supported on Recorder-S.
