OmniPlex D Neural Data Acquisition System with 512 Channels
October 20, 2014

DALLAS, TEXAS — (October 20, 2014) – Plexon Inc, the leader in advanced hardware and software solutions for neuroscience and behavioral research, announces the much anticipated launch of its new 512 channel OmniPlex® D Neural Data Acquisition System utilizing Plexon’s recently announced DHP Subsystem.

Previously, OmniPlex D Systems were able to achieve up to 256 channels of independent, high-resolution recording. Now, incorporating the newly launched DHP subsystem consisting of the Plexon Digital Headstage Processor (DHP) with new, multiplexing Digital Headstages, the OmniPlex D System empowers researchers with:

  • Up to 512 simultaneous, independent, neural recording channels,
  • Real-time upsampling to 40KHz and adjustment of multiplexer timing offsets (equivalent to simultaneous sampling) for improved sorting quality, trodal acquisition, and software referencing – unlike other digital headstage based systems,
  • Decreased sensitivity to ambient electrical noise, and
  • Lighter headstage cables with fewer wires for greater freedom of animal movement.

Researchers around the world now have access to Plexon quality at very high channel counts with more affordable prices. Plexon will be demonstrating the 512 channel OmniPlex D System along with its components and accessories at Neuroscience 2014. Attendees are invited to stop by booth #1823 to learn more or even to try their hand at operating all 512 channels!
