Low Noise, 32 Channel Headstage Weighing only 1 Gram
June 15, 2012

DALLAS, TX — (June 15, 2012) – Plexon Inc, the leader in advanced hardware and software solutions for neuroscience research, announced today the launch of the HST/32o25-G1 GEN 2 headstage, a new light-weight, low-noise 32 channel headstage. Compared to its predecessor, the second generation low noise headstage is 46% lighter and 53% smaller.

Noise is a familiar foe when performing electrophysiology experiments, especially when the subject is freely moving during the study. An additional challenge is developing and implementing recording equipment that impedes the natural behaviors of the subject as little as possible. In this case, less intrusive equipment – such as smaller and lighter – is always better. Plexon’s HST/32o25-G1 GEN 2 headstage accomplishes just that.

The HST/32o25-G1 GEN 2 headstage is a 0.025” pitch, unity gain headstage available with either a true or grounded reference. It can also be equipped with one or two LEDs for tracking movement. Without the optional LED mounting sockets, the headstage measures 21.50 x 14.25 x 2.50mm (length x width x depth) and weighs only 1 gram.

The HST/32o25-G1 GEN 2 headstage joins the full line of Plexon headstages complimented by depth electrodes, connectors, headstage cables, and commutators.
