Calcium Imaging

Plexon’s multi-wavelength photometry system has the capability to deliver multiple wavelengths of excitation light and the ability to detect multiple wavelengths of emitted light. The photometry system offers three excitation ranges centered at 560 nm, 465 nm, and 410 nm and two detection ranges centered at 600 nm and 525 nm.

Quartet is a miniature fluorescence microscope and data collection software package optimized for neuronal calcium imaging. Thin, cylindrical, graded-refractive-index lenses (GRIN) get implanted along with our specially designed, patent-pending focus adjustable fiber-lens connector in ANY region of the brain and spinal cord.

The single wavelength multi-fiber photometry system is Plexon’s original camera based system that images one end of a branching patch cable containing multiple fibers and measures the photometry signal from the individual fibers in the bundle via image processing techniques. Although new single wavelength systems are no longer sold, support continues.
