UT Southwestern Medical Center
The UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking faculty members (tenure-track, open rank) for joint appointments in the Department of Neuroscience and the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute. We seek outstanding scientists with pioneering and rigorous research programs at all academic levels aimed at developing a mechanistic understanding of normal or abnormal nervous system function. All areas of neuroscience are included, including but not limited to biochemical, cell biological, electrophysiological, neural circuit, developmental, computational, or behavioral studies. The O’Donnell Brain Institute is particularly interested in neural circuit biology or molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, including neuroimmune factors (especially microglial biology) in relation to neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer, Parkinson, ALS) or mood disorders. Applicants with strong quantitative elements to their research program are encouraged to apply. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
As one of the world’s foremost research institutions, UT Southwestern Medical Center is home to many nationally and internationally recognized scientists and physicians, including six Nobel Laureates since 1985, 24 members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 18 members of the National Academy of Medicine. Scientists within the Department of Neuroscience and the O’Donnell Brain Institute participate in a diverse, vibrant, interdisciplinary, and highly collaborative research community within the University. Diversity and inclusion are priorities at all levels of our research community, including faculty, staff, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers. We seek bold neuroscientists using leading edge approaches to answer fundamental and/or translational questions about the brain and behavior. The Neuroscience programs at UT Southwestern offer outstanding packages, with competitive salary and excellent benefits.
Applicants at any academic level should apply online at https://jobs.utsouthwestern.edu/ (search for Job #680427) and upload a single pdf including a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a 2-page summary of research accomplishments and future plans.
